Hector Quintanar grew up in Round Rock (Austin) Texas. He is a 2003 graduate of Stony Point HS, and an alumnus of the Longhorn Soccer Club. He played for Clemson for four years before signing with Necaxa. He is now 26 years old.

Brabrand's website states that Quintanar contacted the club several months ago, and they subsequently arranged a trial during the Danish league's current winter break. This Sunday, he scored twice in a test match against Hobro (third-tier club, Brabrand is second-tier), after which Brabrand signed him for the remainder of the season.

The article also states that Quintanar was born in 1985, has duel Mexican-American citizenship, and plays as either a striker or left winger. He apparently left Necaxa for Veracruz in the summer of 2008, but was waived by Veracruz in January 2009.

Very good opportunity for Tudela. The Eastern European clubs are really improving of late; the results in the Champions League and Europa League are proof to that. Also, the fast and physical style of play will really benefit Josh in becoming a better player and attracting bigger clubs.

I agree with Monkey Boy. Dempsey is a vital part of the team, and to me the most creative one on the field. If a couple other creative playmakers were on Fulham, they could be quite the deadly team. Maybe they should start signing some Spanish or South American players.

I think that's a poor decision on Coyle's part. Bolton, a team in the relegation fight, should be jumping at opportunities to snatch a player of Holden's quality. Holden not being a big star in the soccer world right now should have been an even bigger incentive to sign him because it wouldn't have hurt the budget as much.

this is a very revealing interview because it is highlights the problem with us soccer is general. we are not developing the players correctly and we are not playing the most talented players on the national teams.

Excellent Oregon Talent. You may want to do a little more fact checking, regarding trials at Arsenal and Barcelona-bit of a stretch but a nice goal. The kid is trying to figure out what to do after his senir year at HS since it seems unlikely he is going to NCAA D1 college, for undisclosed reasons.

MLS will figure out a way to place him where they want. They have a million rules and exceptions to all these rules.

Maybe from the agent's POV he's a free agent, so whoever shows interest and then throws their hat in the ring with MLS will win his rights?

It means that it'll be a weighted lottery, based on last year's record. So a team like NY and Philly have a better chance to get him than RSL or LA.

And as for the update, there is no free agency in MLS, so I don't know what his agent is referring to.

Got an update from Bernardo's agent. Turns out he will be a free agent. So whoever wants him (and presumably offers him the best terms) gets him.
